Welcome to Redirecting.work! I'm Lexy Martin, the curator behind this blog. With a career spanning 55 years in high-tech and a passion for reinvention, I've navigated various roles—from practitioner to consultant, product marketer, to researcher. At 79, I'm now embracing what I like to call "redirecting," not retiring, using my passion for research to dive deep into how people successfully pivot careers and life based on interviews with dozens.

 

Here are a few highlights of my 55-year career:​

• Being honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award at Unleash in Paris (see picture below)

• Founding and leading the SierraCedar HR Systems Survey for its first 15 years, now known as the Sapient Insights HR Systems Survey.

• Using my research and value engineering expertise to assess and promote the benefits of emerging technologies—from personal computers and office automation to groupware, self-service technologies, HR technologies of all kinds, and people analytics.

• Leveraging my extensive network and passion for supporting and connecting women to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion across all spheres.​​
