I started publishing my redirecting research on my one year anniversary since redirecting, August 18, 2023 and then immediately went on holiday. Who in their right mind doesn't do follow-up posts to keep interest in their new research?
But all of that is changing now that I'm back from Ireland. (Beautiful country, beautiful people, but not my favorite food and I'm not a fan of Guinness - and the Irish have not yet created good IPAs which I do like.)
Being on holiday for three weeks with down time between seeing Dublin, Belfast, Giant's Causeway, Donegal, Galway, Gap of Dunloe (pictured), Glenveigh Park, Cliffs of Moher, Clifden, Killarney and so much more, I had lots of time to think about my plans for next steps.

Stories by interviewees that emphasize how to successfully redirect.
I will write about all of the above, but I'm going to start with highlighting individual stories. There are already a dozen on this site and I've just added half a dozen more. I will be calling attention to various learnings from each story as I begin to spotlight them.
My thinking about these stories led me to realize that they fall into some categories.
Types of pivots. When I started the research I was looking for three types of pivots - those that retire, those that switch roles such as from practitioner to vendor, and those that really change career focus.
But I found more:
Entrepreneurs: those who built entirely new businesses. One such started making gin!
Coaches. I've got lots of these stories. You can argue that they are also entrepreneurs, but there's something special about those that choose to take their skills, passion and values to coach others to succeed. These are often in their early fifties or older.
Retirees -- my first story will be from this category. I have so much to personally learn from my latest redirection which some might call retirement and so much to learn from this category. Stay tuned for one famous one this Saturday.
Intentional voice: My final category is more difficult to cleanly name. It's those that become an intentional voice for their passion. In one way or another, these people, often retired, are focused on being valuable to an area they are passionate about -- caring for animals, focusing on improving inclusion, targeted consulting work, helping disenfranchised kids, helping those with cancer, etc.
So, look for some stories of people I spoke with while doing my redirecting research.
This post just found its way to me. "Who in their right mind" -
Exactly this Lexy.
Recent happenings, with on the surface very painful way - allowed me to redirect myself to my core values and passion - no, not gin:)
I learned I think the power of PIVOTs - beyond in Excel and Power BI,
Intentional VOICE - thanks for this category or better said for this "picture".
Since this now gives me an important puzzle piece and puzzle PEACE.
Who in the right mind - I am now in the right mind to be able to absorb and internalize capitalize on your message - even without your follow-up,
